Welligence US Gulf of America Licensing | Limited but targeted participation in BBG2 lease sale

The second US Gulf of America (US GoM) lease sale under the current Trump administration was held on 11 March 2026. Known as Big Beautiful Gulf 2 (BBG2), this marked the second of 30 planned bid rounds mandated under the One Beautiful Bill Act through 2040. Interest was much more limited compared with the inaugural sale BBG1. In total, 38 bids were submitted across 25 blocks by 13 companies.
