North America Upstream Research Team – Senior Analyst

The Role:
We’re rapidly scaling and seeking passionate leaders to join our journey. As a North America Senior Upstream Research Analyst, you will join an industry-leading group under the direction of our Global Head of Research and Head of North America. Our team is comprised of diverse backgrounds across economics, geology, statistics, computer science, and petroleum engineering.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer. We are looking to fill this position as soon as possible.
What You’ll Work On:
- Becoming the subject matter expert on assigned markets in North America
- Keeping abreast of industry events, evaluating and modeling their impact on the sector
- Establish and maintain relationships with industry contacts, regulatory agencies and the press
- Travel (international + domestic) to strengthen connections and coverage of the industry
- Present research at conferences and to clients
- Helping clients to make informed decisions, sharing knowledge and intelligence
- Build and maintain Excel-based valuation models for oil & gas assets across the region
- Create thought-provoking content and data-driven analysis that fosters debate and decision-making
- Track and forecast oil, gas, and emission metrics at the region/country/company/asset level
- Liaise with Software Development and Data Science teams to maintain the Welligence product-suite and advise on new products
- Collaborate with other regional teams to generate macro-thematic content
- Support and mentor junior analysts in the North America group
You will also gain valuable insight into the energy industry by working with our in-house team of over a dozen recognized global experts and play a vital role in driving data-driven analyses to the upstream oil & gas sector in congruence with its implications for the ongoing energy transition.
What You Bring:
- Relevant past E&P experience (4-6 years) within oil & gas companies, the service sector or research/finance sectors
- Experience in building and understanding cash flow models and asset valuations
- Ability to write high-quality and engaging analysis, demonstrating high attention to detail and clear articulation of opinion
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commercially driven to effectively articulate the Welligence value proposition to external stakeholders

Software Engineer - Senior

The Role:
We are looking for a full-stack senior software engineer to join our growing organization and help us improve, expand, and secure our services. Multiple years of software development experience required. You will be working with and supported by seasoned multidisciplinary engineers and staff.
The candidate should have 7 plus years of prior experience working with modern tech stacks and designing advanced solutions with sophisticated architectures. You will be working with a passionate team in a fast-paced startup environment. Salary is competitive based on location and includes equity compensation. Technical Requirements:

Data Scientist - All Levels

The Role:
As a Data Scientist on our Austin-based team you will join an industry-leading group under Head of Data Science Akash Sadashivapeth and working closely with Harvard professor and Co-founder Seth Neel. Our team is comprised of diverse backgrounds across statistics, computer science, and electrical and petroleum engineering.
What You'll Work On:
• Time series forecasting and machine learning in R using our proprietary library
• Forecasting and tracking of carbon emissions into the atmosphere
• Customer analytics using Google Analytics APIs
• Data visualizations to help clients (energy companies, banks, investors) make informed decisions
• Advising engineering on data quality and architectural decisions
You will also gain valuable insight into the energy industry by working with our in-house team of over a dozen recognized global experts and play a vital role in applying data science to the energy transition.
What You Bring:
