FLNG momentum has been building with recent Floating and Fast LNG projects having created a lot of buzz in the industry. We estimate FLNG and Fast LNG could account for around 5% of global liquefaction capacity by the end of the decade. Despite this, FLNG’s value proposition has not resonated with some of the big players. The lack of economies of scale (the largest operational FLNG vessel is 3.6 MMtpa vs. the largest single train of 7.8 MMtpa) has been flagged as a concern.
