October 10, 2022

SINGAPORE, October 10, 2022 – Welligence Energy Analytics (“Welligence”) is pleased to announce the hiring of four experienced Asia energy professionals to lead its Singapore and Malaysia offices. Marc Howson (Head of Asia Pacific), Seitle Dhillion (VP – Business Development), Robert Chambers (Head of Asia Pacific Research), and Suraya Tulot (Senior Analyst – Asia Pacific Research) have all joined the firm.

The opening of Welligence’s Singapore and Malaysia offices builds upon its existing coverage of Asia Pacific upstream, energy transition, and LNG research and consulting. Several additional hires are expected in the coming months.

The coverage of Asia Pacific follows Welligence’s entrances into Latin America (2018), US Gulf of Mexico (2019), Sub-Saharan Africa (2019), Middle East and North Africa (2020) and North Sea (2021).

“Establishing a presence in Asia has long been on our radar. We are beyond excited to launch regional hubs in Singapore and Malaysia, and to do it with such a highly experienced, knowledgeable team. The move brings us closer to our clients and research contacts, enabling us to provide Welligence subscribers with unique insights. We plan to continue hiring in the region.” said Welligence CEO, Ross Lubetkin. “As the world’s largest energy-consuming region, Asia will play a pivotal role in the energy transition. Welligence hosts the world’s most detailed upstream greenhouse gas emissions information and forecasts, with product development underway in a soon-to-be-announced emissions reduction platform and LNG coverage.”

Marc Howson, Welligence’s Head of Asia Pacific, joins the firm with nearly two decades of experience, encompassing roles in the UK, US, Qatar, and Singapore. This includes management positions with Gazprom Marketing & Trading and S&P Global Platts, as well as senior LNG roles at Qatargas and Wood Mackenzie. Seitle Dhillion has over 30 years of energy experience in Asia, including technical and commercial roles at ExxonMobil, Halliburton, Baker Hughes, Schlumberger, and Siemens, where he was Head of Oil & Gas in Malaysia.

Robert Chambers, Head of Asia Pacific Research, joins Welligence following 17 years at IHS Markit, where he was a Director and most recently led a team in Singapore, providing detailed valuation analysis of upstream oil and gas assets. Suraya Tulot possesses over 15 years of Southeast Asia-focused technical and commercial upstream experience, following roles at Shell, Total, Repsol, and IHS Markit, where she was the Research Lead for the company’s Singapore-based upstream research team.
