There is much speculation about what comes after the Biden administration’s 60-day suspension of new oil and gas leasing and drilling permits for federal lands and waters – what happens if it becomes a permanent ban. As we discussed in our last note, the impacts from no new leasing would not be felt until 10+ years. The extreme case of a drilling permit ban is a different story.
