Welligence Norway Licensing | Licence awards return to five-year average in APA 2024

On 14 January 2025, the Norwegian Offshore Directorate (NOD) announced the award of 53 production licences to 20 companies as part of the APA (Awards in Predefined Areas) 2024 Licensing Round. The awards are split between the North Sea (33), Norwegian Sea (19) and Barents Sea with one. Three firm wells were awarded in the round, with these located over the abandoned Frigg field and near the Peon and Linnorm developments.
