Oman’s energy sector has experienced a surge in activity over recent years, with gas development projects taking centre stage as the country focuses on its energy transition. The Majors, particularly bp, Shell and TotalEnergies, have driven recent gas developments, and are also engaging in Oman’s net-zero ambitions with projects including the low-carbon Marsa LNG plant.
