Welligence Indonesia Exploration | Eni’s top class exploration credentials underlined by Indonesian discovery

Eni has announced its latest exploration success, a major gas/condensate discovery in Indonesia’s prolific Kutei Basin. The deepwater Geng North-1 well encountered a 50 m gas column in a Miocene sandstone, and the preliminary tests suggest a well productivity of 80-100 MMcf/d gas and 5-6,000 bbl/d condensate is possible. This led Eni to announce 5 Tcf in-place of gas and up to 400 MMbbl of condensate. Assuming a gas recovery factor of 80%, this is a billion boe discovery.
