Data center demand across the US is growing exponentially, with ERCOT recently upgrading its 2030 demand forecast from 148 GW to 208 GW to account for an estimated 78 GW of data center demand in the state of Texas. The ability to monetize previously standard gas resources, alignment with core competencies, and the ability to attract large tech companies by including carbon capture are drawing oil and gas players into the data center power business.
