Lukoil doubles down on Mexico as political risk increases

On 5 July 2021, Lukoil announced the acquisition of Fieldwood Mexico’s 50% operating stake in Ichalkil-Pokoch for US$435 million, plus 2021 capital expenditures (which we estimate at US$250 million, assuming the deal closes at year-end).
