Petrobras has confirmed the identification of hydrocarbons at the Morpho exploration (1-BRSA-1405-APS), in block FZA-M-59 in the Foz do Amazonas Basin, offshore Amapa, at a water depth of 2,886 meters. The block was awarded in 2013, but drilling only commenced in October 2025, more than a decade after the environmental licensing process began in 2014, underscoring just how hard-won this result is.
