On 21 April 2024, Galp announced it had successfully concluded the first phase of its Orange Basin exploration campaign by wrapping up testing operations on the Mopane-1X well. The Portuguese operator added that in the Mopane complex alone, and before further E&A is carried out, hydrocarbon in-place estimates are at least 10 bnboe.
