The results of Eni’s latest Baleine well offshore Côte d’Ivoire are highly encouraging. Not only did Baleine East 1X confirm the eastward extension of the deepwater discovery into block CI-802 but testing implied potential well productivity of 12,000 bbl/d oil and 14 MMcf/d gas. This led the operator to increase the in-place volume to 2.5 Bnbbl oil and 3.3 Tcf gas, a 25% uplift.
