Welligence Cote d’Ivoire M&A | VAALCO takes out Svenska and enters Côte d’Ivoire

On 29 February 2024, VAALCO Energy announced it had agreed to acquire Svenska Petroleum Exploration for US$66.5 million. Svenska’s primary asset is the producing deepwater Baobab field in Block CI-40, offshore Cote d’Ivoire, where it holds a 27.39% non-operated stake. The transaction also includes a 21.05% interest in OML 145, offshore Nigeria.
