Since February, the US Department of Energy has been streamlining the approvals process and actively granting export authorisations for many proposed LNG projects. US LNG M&A deals have spiked since February, with buyers dominated by privately-owned companies, including EIG and Stonepeak, as well as state-owned players, including Aramco and Mubadala Energy.
