CGC makes transformational acquisition in Argentina to become one of Latin America’s biggest independents

On 30th June 2021, CGC announced the acquisition of Sinopec’s Argentina portfolio. The consideration has not been publicly disclosed, but some reports put it at US$240 million. The portfolio comprises mature, conventional oil assets predominantly located in the Golfo San Jorge Basin in southern Argentina.
